Long Beach Residents March on May Day 2018
Resist State Violence! Rise Up for our Communities! Reclaim our Power!

Location: Cesar Chavez Park (401 Golden Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802) to Long Beach City Hall (333 W Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90802)
More than 400 Long Beach community members will march and rally in honor of International Workers’ Day and various social justice issues on May 1st, 2018. It will begin at 5:00pm at Cesar Chavez Park with a short program, followed by a march ending at Long Beach City Hall for a closing program. Speakers will address the following topics as part of the scheduled rally:
- The importance of a clean Long Beach Values Act to make Long Beach a Sanctuary for all immigrants.
- Gentrification: Displacement and why renter protections are needed in Long Beach!
- Anti-Imperialism: U.S. military intervention in different countries such as Palestine, Philippines, and around the globe.
- Building a mass movement of working class communities within Long Beach united for justice, equity, respect, and human rights.
